Summary of position: Provide one to one confidential business counseling to individuals who are starting or expanding a small business.  This includes assistance with startup procedures, setting objectives, market analysis, communications, basic human resources, and financial analysis.

 

Job Functions/Responsibilities:  Provide counseling to business owners.  Must counsel at least 12 new businesses per month.   Must maintain a case load of existing clients. Assist clients with wide range of services.

 

Required Qualifications: 

Very strong communication skills – verbally and in writing.  Knowledge of small business development.  Ability to handle many clients at the same time.  Strong organizational skills.  Very strong soft skills including empathy and customer service.  Ability to work effectively with a professional team. Must possess knowledge of Microsoft office. Passion for entrepreneurship.

 

Preferred Experience: 2-3 years of experience working with small business owners and/or experience owning a small business.

 

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. 

Preference for persons with a degree in business, economics, computer information, or hospitality.

 

Job Related Physical Requirements:  Energy to see clients all day.  This work is in person, (cases are often discussed with team members.)

 

Travel Requirements:  Very little travel
